The Postmaster General announced today that all mail and wire service to Palestine has been suspended. He added that he cannot guarantee telephonic communication with Palestine, Iraq, Transjordan or Lebanon because of landline difficulties beyond Egypt.

(The U.N. Palestine Commission at Lake Success last night concluded an agreement with the Haifa Chamber of Shipping to resume the interrupted international mail service to and from Palestine. H.B. Gratz, president of the Chamber, who negotiated the agreement, will leave tomorrow for Berne, Switzerland, to secure approval from the International Post Union.)
