American press reports that 80 percent of Europe’s displaced Jews have lost interest in Palestine and now wish to emigrate to the United States were branded completely untrue today by the Central Committee of Liberated Jews ?ere.

In a message to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the Committee said: “The overwhelming majority of the Jewish DP’s wish to emigrate only to Palestine. This is indicated by the fact that more than 70 percent of the displaced Jews have already registered for immediate emigration to Palestine. Furthermore, at the recent congress of Jewish DP’s all delegates supported the Zionist program.”

A 32-member “DP Symphony Orchestra” presented a medley of American compositions here last night under the sponsorship of the joint Distribution Committee. Leonard Bernstein, American Jewish conductor, led the orchestra, most of whose members are former concentration camp inmates.
