U.S. Attitude on Arab Invasion of Israel Will Be Revealed at Security Council Today

The attitude of the United States toward the invasion of Israel will be announced at tomorrow’s meeting of the U.N. Security council, it was learned here today. It is understood that a strong statement in connation of the attacks will be made by the American representative.

Meanwhile, Israel Foreign Secretary Moshe Shertok today cabled Alexandre ##rodi president of the Council, urging immediate action to check and prevent Egyptian aggression against the Jews of Israel. The cable informed the Council At Egyptian planes have already raided Tel Aviv a number of times causing death destruction.

The message also revealed that Jewish anti-aircraft guns shot down a Spitfire and captured its pilot, an Egyptian. The pilot’s name and the specific markings is plane wore included in the cable. In addition, Shertok pointed cut that the Egyptian radio boasted of the raids over Tel Aviv.

Other information concerning Egyptian aggression included attacks by air and artillery on the Negev settlement of Nirim and reports of large concentrations of Egyptian regular forces were reported moving from Gaza and other parts of southern Palestine.

Representatives of the Big Five will meet tomorrow to discuss the appointment of a mediator for the whole of Palestine, in line with a proposal adopted by the United Nations special Assembly session before it closed late Friday night.
