Eliahu Epstein Appointed Israel’s First Minister to Washington; Marshall is Notified

Eliahu Epstein, who has served as the representative of the Jewish Agency in Washington, was appointed today the first Israeli Minister to the United States. In informing ‘J.S. Secretary of State Marshall of the appointment, Moshe Shertok, Israel’s Foreign Minister, asked the State Department to facilitate the setting up of Israel’s Legation in Washington.
