Labeling Britain an aggressor in the present war in Palestine, Frank Goldman, national president of the B’nai B’rith, today called on the United States Government to halt supplies and credits to Britain, to take steps to force Britain and the Arabs to halt their aggressive war against the Jews of Israel and to lift the embargo on arms to Israel.

Goldman spoke to 2,000 American and Canadian Jewish leaders gathered at the 96th annual convention of the B’nai B’rith’s District Grand Lodge Number 1. He also thanked President Truman for giving the Provisional Government of Israel official recognition and urged him t o take all possible action to halt the aggressors.

Making her first appearance as the First Lady of Israel, and possibly her last public appearance before she and Dr. Weizmann return to Israel, Mrs. Chaim Weizmann declared: “Israel is born. It is only a little baby, already with great possibilities, physicians and artists, but they never knew that Jews have learned to fight, as well. “

Mayor William O’Dwyar, another featured speaker at the convention, asserted that “every nation in the world must support peace and justice and the principle of unity without a single exception and hit injustice wherever they see it.” What is going on in Palestine today is “unjust and should be hit hard,” he added.
