More then 5,373,000 pounds of canned foods, clothing and other relief supplies were donated to the SOS (Supplies for Overseas Survivors) collection of the Joint Distribution committee during the fires five months of 1948, it was announced here today. These relief-in-kind contributions, which came from more than 1,000 cities throughout the United State, supplemented supplies purchased and shipped to needy Jews in 16 European countries by the J.D.C.
