U.S. to Send 95 Additional Palestine Truce Observers to Mediator’s Headquarters

The U.S. will send 95 additional military observers to Palestine to assist U.N. mediator Count Folke Bernadette in carrying out the truce, the State Department announced late today.

Brig, Gen. William E. Riley, U.S. Marine Corps, has been appointed chief of the U.S. observers, and will leave tomorrow by air to report to Bernadotte in Rhodes. He will be accompanied by 19 of the 95 observers.
