U.S. Jewish Leaders Issue Call to Parents to Enroll Children in Religious Schools

Prominent Jewish leaders have issued a call to Jewish parents in all parts of the United States urging then to enroll their children in Jewish religious schools during Jewish Education Month, the annual registration drive sponsored by the American Association for Jewish Education. Jewish Education Month will start this year on September 15th.

Those who signed the call included Michael A. Stavitsky, president of the American Association for Jewish Education; Joseph M. Proskauer, president of the American Jewish Committee; Frank Goldman, president of B’nai B’rith; Dr. Abraham H. Feldman, president of the Central Conference of American Rabbis; Stanley C. Myers, president of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds; Mrs. Samuel W. Halprin, president of Hadassah; Mrs. Joseph M. Welt, president of the national Council of Jewish Women. Also, Frank L. Weil, president of the National Jewish Welfare Board; Rabbi David Aronson, president of the Rabbinical Assembly of America; Rabbi William F. Rosenblum, president of the Synagogue Council of America; Dr. Maurice Eisendrath, president of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations; Samuel Rothstein, president of the United Synagogue of America; Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the Zionist Organization of America; Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the American Jewish Congress; Shimon Pollack, president of the Federation of Hebrew Teachers; Boris Margolin, president of Histadruth Ivrith, and Judah Pilch, president of the National Council for Jewish Education.
