PRAGUE (Aug. 23)
The chief of police in Bratislava has boon replaced today as a result of anti-Jewish rioting which broke out in the capital of Slovakia Friday evening and continued through Saturday. Forty-one rioters were arrested.
The violence — which grew out of a dispute between a Jewish and a non-Jewish woman — wound up with anti-Semitic mobs attempting to loot Jewish-owned shops. The situation is now reported to be in hand. Bratislava police officials refused to discuss the outbreaks, stating only that an official report had been sent to the proper authorities.
