The question of extending recognition to the state of Israel was discussed by Brazilian Foreign Minister Raul Fernandez and Moises A. Toff, Under-Secretary for Latin American Affairs of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, it was reported here today by the Israeli office. Mr. Toff arrived in Montevideo today to meet with Uruguayan officials following his visit to Brazil.
Benno Weiser has been appointed assistant director of the Latin American Department of the Jewish Agency, an announcement issued by the office of the Israeli Provisional Government here said. Weisor previously represented the Agency in Columbia and Ecuador and visited Venezuela as a liaison officer. He is a former president of the Zionist Organization of Ecuador.
