During the interview, Rovira said that all democratic countries must favor the admission of Jewish immigrants, adding that they will benefit from such humanitarian actions because many of the immigrants can contribute much to the economy of the democratic nations. The J.D.C. announcement of the meeting states that as a result of the interview it is expected that Uruguay’s doors will be open to Jewish settlers as well as to refugees who seek to pass through the country to other Latin American nations.
