Eric Johnston, president of the Motion Pictures producers Association of America, has informed the New York Board of Rabbis that he considers it inappropriate for him to comment at this time on the Board’s protest against the possible showing of the film “Oliver Twist” in this country.

Replying to the Board’s charge that the picture is a “vehicle of blatant anti- ##mitism,” Johnston, who is now in Europe, cabled that “the picture has not yet been admitted to our production code administration for certificate of approval. It would be inappropriate for me to express an opinion in advance of its submission to the code authority.”
