The British administration of the Protectorate of Aden has ceased all assistance to the 6,000 Jews in that country who suffered extensive loss of life and property in the pogrom of December 2, 1947, the World Jewish Congress charged here today.
At the same time, the W.J.C. asserted that the British administration was failing to furnish adequate security of person for the Jews of Aden and that kidnappings of Jewish children and violent anti-Jewish propaganda continues. The British administration, the Congress said, has not fulfilled its promise of last December to indemnify the Aden Jewish community for its losses of 140 killed and wounded, one-third of all Jewish homes destroyed, almost all Jewish shops looted or burned, and four synagogues and the only two Jewish schools put to the torch.
