J.D.C. Annual Conference to Be Held in Chicago Oct. 30; New S.o.s. Drive to Begin

The 34th annual conference of the Joint Distribution Committee will be held in Chicago on Oct. 30-31, it was announced here today by Edward M.M. Warburg, J.D.C. chairman. Delegates from nearly every state in the union are expected to participate in the parley.

The opening on Oct. 1 of a special 4,000,000 pound campaign for relief supplies for Europe’s needy Jews was announced today by the SOS Collection of the J.D.C. The drive, in which more than 1,000 American communities, including over 400 city-wide organized SOS committees, are expected to take part, will concentrate on the collection of 3,000,000 cans of nutritious foods, 1,250,000 layette items and 850,000 pounds of new clothing.
