The U.S. Government is not in a position to recognize the “All-Arab Government of Palestine because we have already recognized the state of Israel, “Under-Secretary of State Robert A. Lovett told a process conference yesterday.
Asked if this government would be in a position to recognize ouch a government if it were confined to the Arab section of Palestine, Secretary Lovett replied that the U.S. Government is not in a position to recognize the All-Arab Government at this time at all, because “they have not conformed to the normal process of setting up a state.”
