Lester B. Pearson, Canadian Minister for External Affaire, received a delegation of the United Zionist Council just prior to his leaving for Paris to take over leadership of the Dominion’s delegation at the U.N. The Jewish delegation, which urged immediate recognition of Israel, received the impression that Pearson will champion the cause of Israel.
A Canada-wide United Palestine conference will be held in Montreal November 21, it was announced here today by Hyman Grover, national U.P.A. chairman. The meeting will decide both national and community quotas. Prof. Selig Brodetsky, one-man London bureau of the Jewish Agency executive, will be a featured speaker.
