The Rabbinical Council of America has announced that steps have been taken for recognizing the Chief Rabbinate of Israel as the supreme religious authority for all Jews. Rabbi Israel Tabak, president of the Orthodox body, said that “our plan furnishes the answer to the character of strong emotional attachment which the American Jewish masses have always had for Zion — the relationship will no longer be political, but religious and cultural.”
