The Congress of Polish Esperantists, meeting here today, adopted a resolution condemning anti-Semitism. After the meeting, a delegation from the Congress proceeded to the Jewish cemetery outside Warsaw and, in brief ceremonies, paid tributes to the memory of the late founder of Esperanto, Dr. Ludwig Zamenhof. The Jewish linguist’s grave remained intact throughout the war.
A group of 380 Jewish students attending various colleges in Wroclaw–the largest city in western Poland where the majority of Polish Jews now live–have organized the first Jewish academic fraternity in this country. Most of the students reside in a special “Academy House” presented to them by the Central Jewish Committee of Wroclaw.
