The launching of a $6,000,000 drive to establish a medical school as a division of Yeshiva University was proposed today by Dr. Elihu Katz, president of the Society for the Advancement of Pre-Medical Sciences at Yeshiva University. “It is common knowledge that existing medical schools are exceedingly overcrowded and cannot admit many eligible and desirable students” he stated, adding that in this school “no questions will be asked with regard to faith or ancestry. Students will seek admission because of the high standards of medical training and because of the non-sectarian status,” he said.
