A total of 620 Jews, mostly young men and women, left last Thursday for Israel from the port of Stettin. The immigrants will go to Havre from where they will entrain for Marseille to board an Israel-bound vessel.
The sea trip to Havre was arranged with the aid of the Polish Government. The Jews were unable to make the journey from Poland to Israel by a direct land route because they were unable to obtain necessary transit visas.
