American Council for Judaism Seeks Federal Investigation of Beigin’s Visit to U.S.

A Federal investigation into the activities of Menachom Boigin, former head of the Irgun Zvai Loumi, was sought today by the executive committee of the Washington chapter of the American Council for Judaism. In a telegram to Tan C. Clark, Attorney General, the executive committee asked for an inquiry “into all the circumstances of Mr. Boigin’s presence here,” and also “into the tar-free status of the organization sponsoring his visit.”

(The group, listed as the American League for a Free Palestine, announced its dissolution yesterday. A spokesman for the group told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today in New York that the League will soon issue a statement concerning the request of the American Council for Judaism.)
