President Truman today indicated that he will propose to the 81st Congress liberalization of the present law for the admission of displaced persons to the United States, which he termed anti-Jewish after it was passed by the 80th Congress.
The President gave this indication during a talk in the White House with David Dubinsky and Alex Rose, leaders of the Liberal Party. The President also expressed satisfaction with the developments in Israel and declared that he stands firmly behind the Israel program contained in the Democratic Party’s platform and reiterated by him during the election campaign.
