Eritise Colonial Office Promises Investigation of Ban on Migration of Aden Jews to Israel

The British Colonial Off ice today promised the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that it would launch an investigation into charges that the British administration of the Protectorate of Aden had refused to permit some 700 Jews to leave for Israel because they were of military age.

Spokesmen at both the Colonial and Foreign Offices declared that no restrictive instructions had been issued to local administrations since Foreign Under- Secretary Christopher Mayhew announced in Commons that the ban on the emigration of persona of military age who wished to go to Israel had been lifted in all areas under British rule. This policy is in effect everywhere except in the British zone of Ger-many where negotiations are in progress with the American and French authorities for a uniform policy in the western part of Germany, the spokesman said.
