Extends De Facto Recognition to Israel; is Reportedly Concerned over Jerusalem

The Government of Eire has granted Israel de facto recognition, it was announced here today. Earlier, I.J. Linton, acting Israeli representative here, conferred with the Eire High Commissioner in London and discussed problems of mutual interest.”

It is known that Sire is anxious about the question of Jerusalem’s future status and would like to see the problem of the Holy City solved to the satisfaction of Catholic opinion.
