Former Col. Joseph Munck vas sentenced to death today by a French military court on charges of wartime treason.
A letter written by the defendant which was read during the trial said in it: “I disapprove of the Judeo-Masonic principle. I am National Socialist. I think France is betraying the interests of the white race for the sake of Jewish interests.” Munck deserted from a French unit stationed in Tsientsin, China, during war and succeeded in reaching Germany where he attempted to acquire German nationality.
The British motion-picture “Oliver Twist,” which has been labelled anti-Semi-was banned in the city of Metz following protests against the film by French Jewish veterans’ organizations.
