Moscow Jews Mark Passover; Services Held in Grand Synagogue; Matzoth Made Available

Passover was celebrated by Jews in Moscow with holiday services conducted by Rabbi M. Schliefer in the Grand Synagogue. Participants in the services were chiefly middle-aged and elderly men and women. Very few children or young people were present. Moscow authorities made 100 tons of matzoth available to Orthodox Jews as tell as some kosher meat. The matzoth were sold in the city’s regular bread shops. Mrs. Golda Myerson, who is leaving her post as Israeli Minister here next week to return to Tel Aviv to become Minister of Labor, held a Seder in the Israeli ##gation for 40 guests. Accompanied by members of the legation staff, Mrs. Myerson yesterday toured the Kremlin palace and buildings.
