Well-informed sources said here today that the extension of de jure recognition to Israel by the French Government will be postponed until the Jewish state has signed armistice agreements with all the Arab states. These same sources believe that France’s delegation to the United Nations will abstain from voting on Israel’s application for United Nations membership so long as such an abstention does not Jeopardize the Jewish state’s chances to become a full-fledged member of the world organization.

An Israeli Army delegation, headed by Lt, Col. I. Reacheff, yesterday laid a wreath on the tomb of France’s Unknown Soldier. Large crowds of Sunday strollers watched the delegation march down the Champs Elysses behind the Israeli flag to the bomb. The wreath, of blue and white flowers, carried the inscription: “From the Army of Israel to the Unknown Soldier.”
