Jacob Blaustein, president of the American Jewish Committee, left here today for New York following his visit to Israel where he headed an A.J.C. delegation Invited by Premier David Ben Gurion to survey conditions in the Jewish state.

In an interview with newsmen here, Blaustein stressed that a gigantic task now faces Israel in the fields of reconstruction, rehabilitation and absorption of immigrants. “My visit to Israel,” he declared, “has convinced me that the new born state must have the full support of American Jews. At the same time, I am strengthened in my belief that we must further our efforts to make the position of American Jews and Jewish communities elsewhere secure in pursuant of our objective that Jews shall be able to live all over the world as equal citizens continuing their religions and cultural traditions in peace and dignity.”
