Israeli Military Attache in Moscow Ends Ten-month Tour of Duty; Returns to Israel

Ending his ten-month tour of duty as Israel’s first military attache in the Soviet capital, Col. Johanan Ratner left here today by plane ?r Tel Aviv. He was accompanied by his wife and son and will travel via Prague.

During the course of his stay here, Ratner became a popular member of the Diplomatic corps. Ratner expects to return to civilian life in Israel where he will ##su#e his position ac Professor of Architecture at the Haifa Technical Institute. Appointment of Ratner’s successor is expected to be made soon.

While in the Soviet Union, Ratner visited Odessa and Leningrad to see at fisted the reconstruction of these two war-ravaged cities. In Odessa, the Israeli representative revisited the house where he was born.
