The International Red Cross conference meeting here to change its convention to meet the conditions of anemic war last night rejected an Israeli request that the Red Mogen Dovid be recognized as the official Red Cross symbol in Israel instead of the cress. The Israeli delegation to the parley pointed out that the Mogen Dovid has been the symbol recognized by the inhabitants of Israel for many years.
Red Cross officials, explaining the rejection of the Israeli application, stated that the Red Cross symbol has no religious significance. The Israeli delegation, in its plea, pointed out that it was asking equal statue for the Bed Mogen Dovid because the Red Crescent is recognized in Moslem countries as the Lion and Sun is in Iran.
