A spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry today vigorously denied reports appearing in Hebrew afternoon papers that Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett plans to undertake a tour of East European countries. The reports said that Sharett, accompanied by economic experts, would discuss with the governments of those countries the question of permitting the emigration of Jews to Israel and would also touch on economic matters.

Dr. Dov Joseph, Minister of Supply and Rationing, announced last night that two months after the introduction of the austerity program in Israel, food prices have been out by ten percent.
