Prison Sentences Imposed on Rumanian Officials Who Mistreated, Robbed Jews During War

Eugen Simuleas, town hall clerk in the Siscautzi, Czernowitz. district, was sentenced to five years imprisonment for mistreatment of a group of 150 Jewish inmates of the Vranceni concentration camp during the war. The defendant, whose property was ordered confiscated, was also accused of robbing the Jews of all their possessions.

Marin Bogdan, former assistant police chief in the town of Gura Humora, received a three-year prison sentence, for directing the robbery of the entire Jewish population of that town during the war.
