The Association of Jewish Journalists and Authors here tendered a reception last night to Jacob Landau, managing director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, on the eve of his return to the United States. Speakers lauded the work of the J.T.A. and emphasized its commanding position in the Jewish newspaper world.
Replying, Mr. Landau said that the emergence of the state of Israel necessitates the shifting of JTA’s center of gravity to Israel, without neglecting the worldwide aspect of its service and without surrendering its independence.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
