A resolution asking for the settlement of 200,000 Jews on farm lands within the next four years was adopted last night at a meeting of the Agricultural Council of the Histadrut.
The resolution pointed out that this would require a nationwide expansion of agricultural facilities, establishment of at least 500 new farm settlements, and an investment of approximately $300,000,000. Other resolutions emphasized the importance of educating and encouraging new immigrants to engage in farming.
