Israel has approached the Turkish Government with a request for permission to open a legation in Ankara and a consulate here, local newspapers reported today. The Department of Foreign Affairs is now considering the Tel Aviv government’s request, it was added.

The Turkish-language broadcasts of the official Israel radio, which are beamed to this country from Tel Aviv, reported this week that the future Israel Minister to Ankara will be Victor Eliashar, who is now in this country as representative of the immigration Ministry of the Jewish state.
