Four Delegates Represent Jewish Writers Throughout World at P.e.n. Assembly

Four Jewish delegates are attending the international assembly of P.E.N. Clubs which opened during the week-end in Venice, it was reported today. Representing the poets, essayists and novelists of Israel are Yaakov Chan and Reuvon Avincam (Grossman). Jacob Glatstein is attending as delegate of the Yiddish P.E.N. Club of America while I. Efroykin is a delegate from France, representing Jewish writers of Europe.

Mayor Daniel Auster of Jerusalem paid a call on Mayor L. Rabecchini of Rome today and was presented with an album of photographs of the city. Alongside his name in the municipality’s visitors’ book, Mayor Auster wrote: “With heartiest greetings from one Eternal City to another, the Mayor of Jerusalem to the Mayor of Rome.”
