The Union of Jewish Communities of Italy today issued a statement in connection with the opening of the U.N. General Assembly at Flushing Meadows tomorrow urging the renewal of efforts at the Assembly to obtain full and equal rights for the Jews of Tripolitania, including the right to emigrate and to take their property with them when they leave the country.

Rev. Maurice Perlzweig, World Jewish Congress leader, who together with Dr. Raffaele Cantoni visited Tripoli recently, today left here for New York. During their tour of the North African city the two Jewish leaders were greeted enthusiastically by thousands of Jews who shouted that they wanted to immigrate to Israel.
