Israel Government Issues Special Postage Stamps in Honor of Rosh Hashanah

The Israel Government today issued a new set of postage stamps on the occasion of the forthcoming High Holy Days. The stamps – in three denominations of five, ten and 35 prutot each (a pruta is approximately one-third of a cent) – bear the insignia of the Israel Army, Navy and Air Force, respectively, a well as the government’s official coat of arms. The Hebrew inscription reads: “Joyous Holidays, 5710, Second Year of the State.”
