Manufacturing machinery to provide employment for newly-arrived immigrants in Israel is being purchased in the United States, the international trade branch of the U.S. Department of Commerce reported today.

Arieh Azati, production manager of the Manarah factory located in Rosh Pina, Israel, is now in this country to inspect machinery used in the production of milk cans. Initial production of milk cans in the Manarah plant is planned at 10,000 annually. The factory previously turned out small-sized metal articles, but is now expanding its operations to afford employment to new arrivals.

Rudolf U. Pollak, representing the Gat Canning Factory at Givat Hayim, near Hadera, is presently visiting American fruit and vegetable canning factories to inspect methods and equipment. He plans to purchase canning equipment.
