An American court at Baireuth, Bavaria, today sentenced two Nazis to eleven-month prison terms and a third to five-month term and a fine of 500 marks for desecration of the only synagogue in the Bavarian town of Marktredwitz.
The convicted Nazis are Hans Ries, Max Dressel and Mrs. Auguste Reis, wife of Hans. She received the lesser sentence. Three other defendants were acquitted of the crime which occurred shortly before the High Holy Days last year.
