SIGN UP FOR THE JTA DAILY BRIEFING

The deadline by which Iraqi nationals–most of whom are Jews–will be expelled from Iran has been extended between two and four months, Reuters reported Here today from Teheran. The British news agency attributed the report to “a high official.”

About a week ago, when the original expulsion order was announced, the Iraqi nationals were given two weeks in which to leave the country. (In Washington last week, an Iranian source estimated that of some 1,500 Iraqis affected by the order, over 1,400 were Jews.)
