U.N. Trusteeship Council Meets Today on Jerusalem; Will Map Internationalionalization Plan

The question of setting up an international regime in Jerusalem in accordance with the decision of the U.N. General Assembly will be taken up by the U.N. Trusteeship Council tomorrow at a session which will be presided over by French Ambassador Roger Garreau. Ambassador Garreau has indicated that an extraordinary plenary session of the Council on the Jerusalem question might be opened in Geneva January 9.

A spokesman for the American delegation at the United Nations today told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that neither the United States nor Britain favors holding the Trusteeship Council session in Geneva. He added that the U.S. advocates the holding of the January session at Lake Success. The Council is expected to invite Israel and of the January session at Lake Success. The Council is expected to invite Israel and Transjordan to take part in its plan for establishing international control and installing a U.N. Governor over Jerusalem.
