A national center of Reform Judaism will be constructed in New York City as the result of a gift made by Dr. Albert A. Berg, noted surgeon, scientist and philanthropist, to the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, it was announced today by Mr. Jacob Aronson, chairman of the Union executive board.

The structure, to be erected as a memorial to the benefactor’s parent, will serve as the national home of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. An announcement of the site will be forthcoming soon. Although the amount of the gift has not been disclosed, Dr. Maurice N. Eisendrath, president of the Union, called it “the largest single contribution to any Jewish religious body in our generation.”
