The mass transfer of Turkish Jews to Israel, which began last year and has resulted in the emigration of 30,000 Jews from this country, has come to a standstill, it was reported today. However, the emigration of Turkish Jews is continuing at a reduced pace, with approximately 250 Jews having left here for Israel during November.
Meanwhile, a small group of Turkish Jews who proceeded to Israel some time ago returned here this week. Local press reports quoted the returning Jews as stating that they came back to Turkey because they could not “come to terms with the Israel authorities.”
