Plans for the construction of an “Israel Hollywood” on the Biblical site of Ascalon, south of Tel Aviv, were revealed here this week-end.
“Barnaea,” a new motion picture company with $3,000,000 capitalization, plans to cooperate with major Hollywood studies interested in producing films on the 750-acre site at Ascalon. Daniel Auster, Mayer of Jerusalem, is the principal stockholder of the company.
Plans for the erection of the largest stadium in the Middle East were made public by the municipal authorities of Ramat Can, a suburb of Tel Aviv. The stadium will have seats for 30,000 spectators and standing room for another 50,000. The stadium will be constructed at a cost of approximately $2,800,000. Work is expected to begin in September.
