A $100,000 libel suit against the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New Brunswick, the local Jewish Federation and 13 business and professional men was withdrawn this week-end by the plaintiff, John Fuchs.
After the court session the plaintiff stated, “an amicable settlement had been reached and suit was withdrawn in the interests of the Jewish community.” His suit was based on the report of the 1948 U.J.A. campaign which, distributed to 2,600 contributors, listed the names of 17 individuals, including Mr. Fuchs, alleged to have refused to contribute to the drive.
