The Finance Ministry announced today that investments in Israel last year totalled approximately $250,000,000. Of this sum $80,000,000 want for construction purposes, $50,000,000 for housing, $40,000,000 for industry and $30,000,000 for communications. Bank deposits in Israel rose 29 percent from 1948 to 1949, it was announced.
