French Government Decides to Abandon Pressure for Jerusalem Internationalization

The French Government has decided to abandon its leading role in pressing for the internationalization of Jerusalem, it was learned in diplomatic circles here today.

Ambassador Roger Garreau, president of the U.N. Trusteeship Council, who advocates a plan for modified internationalization of Jerusalem, has frequently emphasized that he does not speak for the French Government on this matter.
