Israel Mobilizes Schoolchildren to Save Remnants of Crop Destroyed by Snow Storm

Schoolchildren were called on today to help save the remnants of the banana crop in the Jordan Valley where more than a thousand tons of bananas have been destroyed by the snow storm. It is believed that about 200 tons can still be saved. The frozen banana trees will have to be uprooted.

Tomato crops also perished, it was established here today. No final estimates have been made of damages in the Galilee, Jordan and Jezreel Valleys, However, early reports are pessimistic.
