NEW YORK (Feb. 19)
Jews from Yemen continue to flee that country and are arriving in considerable numbers in the Joint Distribution Committee’s reception camp at Aden for air transportation to Israel, Moses A. Leavitt, executive vice-chairman of the J.D.C., revealed here today.
Mr. Leavitt also revealed that his agency, which had expected the flow of Yemenite Jews to end last month, flew 1,300 of the refugees to Israel in January and expects to transport a similar number this month. Since December, 1948, the J.D.C. has flown some 42,000 Yemenite Jews to Israel at a cost of $6,600,000 for air transport and relief.
